The Adelante Movement & SBA Join Forces to Empower Latina Women
We have been on this journey of financial empowerment and self-reliance since 2012, and I can honestly say I have never felt more proud or excited than I do right now.
I’m in Washington DC as we speak where, along with Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet, the head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and member of President Obama’s Cabinet, we are joining to sign a first-ever agreement to help start, maintain, strengthen, and expand Latina-owned small businesses. This is a momentous and landmark moment for the Adelante Movement, which, as you all know, was created for exactly this purpose.
This historic partnership will focus on unifying the women of The Adelante Movement and a government agency that share the same mission: bringing attention to the role that Latina women play in the emerging economy of this country by providing information, support, training and resources needed for aspiring Latina entrepreneurs to become successful businesswomen.
The last two weeks were all about shattering glass ceilings for women everywhere, and as we march forward together on this path, we’re only going to go farther and achieve more! It’s our moment, ladies!
